Sisterhood and Sacred Spaces

There’s something sacred about gathering with other women whose hearts beat for Christ. Whether it was laughter over lunch or shared silence during worship, God moved in the space between us at interMISSION 2025. The moments weren’t always scripted or polished but they were deeply, undeniably holy.
Fellowship wasn’t surface-level. It went beyond a polite hello or shared interest. We saw one another. We heard one another. And in those conversations—sometimes joyful, sometimes tearful—God met us there.
A Different Kind of Together
“This was my first time... What a beautiful time of fellowship.”
Some who came to interMISSION this year arrived with curiosity and maybe a touch of hesitancy. New faces. New experiences. But it didn’t take long for the unfamiliar to become something deeply familiar: a sisterhood.
There’s power in being surrounded by women who show up open-hearted. We didn’t need to pretend or perform. Some came feeling weary, others came seeking clarity. All came hoping to encounter God and He was faithful to show up through each other.
Moments That Mattered
One of the quiet miracles of the weekend was how ordinary interactions became sacred.
Over coffee: someone shared a story of how God brought her through a difficult year and it felt like an answer to someone else’s prayer that she would find encouragement.
In worship: a woman who thought she was too worn out to lift her voice found herself singing through tears, carried by the voices around her.
In conversation: vulnerability was met with compassion and those who were there were reminded again that they’re not alone.
These weren’t headline moments. They weren’t flashy but they were holy.
“Togetherness is powerful! Networking, listening, meeting ladies and making new friends...”
It’s a rare thing in this world to feel known without needing to explain yourself, to have someone look you in the eyes and say, “I see you. I’ve been there.” That’s what sisterhood in Christ looks like.
Sacred Spaces Aren’t Always Quiet
Sometimes sacred spaces are silent sanctuaries but sometimes they sound like belly laughs over lunch or the rustle of note pages during a workshop. Sometimes they’re marked by prayer. Other times, by play.
Throughout the weekend, we created space not just for learning or worship but for just being together. And in that space, something beautiful bloomed. Encouragement. Belonging. Healing. Hope.
“It was wonderful to come away from the news and focus on being together to worship and praise.”
In a world that constantly demands our attention, interMISSION gave us permission to pause. To turn down the volume of headlines and to-do lists and turn up the voice of God through community.
A Lasting Imprint
We all left with something different. Some left with new friendships. Others left with renewed purpose. Many left feeling lighter than when they arrived.
But, most of all, we left reminded that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. We’re not lone travellers. We’re companions on the road, sisters in Christ walking alongside one another toward something eternal.
This kind of community doesn’t end when the event does. It continues in texts, phone calls, prayers whispered across provinces. It continues in how we show up at our churches, our jobs, our homes. It continues when we carry one another’s burdens and cheer each other on.
Looking Ahead
If you’ve ever doubted that your presence matters, hear this: it does. Whether you spoke from a platform or sat quietly in the back, whether you led a session or simply listened, you mattered.
Every woman who showed up helped create that sacred space. Your story, your laughter, your silence, your presence—each one was part of the beautiful tapestry God wove through interMISSION 2025.
As we went back to our everyday routines, we still carried that experience with us. Let’s keep making space for real conversations, for gentle presence, for worship that isn’t performative but deeply personal.
And let’s keep reminding each other of this truth: We’re better. Together.
Who made you feel truly seen this week? Text them. Call them. Thank them. Let them know they were part of something sacred.
