Living the Change

They arrived with curiosity. They left with conviction.

As the final session closed and goodbyes echoed through the corridors of Crandall University, something deeper lingered: a sense that what happened at interMISSION 2025 wasn’t ending. It was just the beginning.

From the first worship gathering to the last lunchtime conversation, interMISSION became a space where God stirred hearts, opened eyes, and invited action. The stories shared, the hands lifted in worship, the tears shed in solidarity — all of it was sacred ground. And from that ground, new life is already growing.

Bearing Witness to What Is Already Happening

“I feel so inspired by the stories of the Lebanese Church stepping up to help refugees...”

This reflection from someone who attended interMISSION echoes what many expressed during and after the event. From workshops, keynote speakers, and informal conversations, we heard stories from close to home and around the globe that made an indelible impact: the courage of women and men leading churches in spite of war in Ukraine, the resilience of families navigating displacement in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the faith of local congregations in Lebanon responding to crisis with creativity and compassion.

These weren’t abstract tales. They were real-time testimonies and evidence of God’s Spirit alive in communities facing extreme challenge. The global Church is not waiting for perfect conditions. It's already moving with urgency.

Living the Change at Home

“The workshops prompt me to be more intentional with my energy and resources.”

Transformation doesn’t stay confined to the conference venue. It travels home in purses and prayer journals. It wakes up in Monday morning routines. It reshapes how we budget, how we parent, how we serve.

We heard stories of women returning to their churches with new resolve:

  • Packing backpacks for children who struggle with food insecurity

  • Volunteering to welcome newcomers to Canada

  • Starting book clubs and study groups to keep the conversation and the learning going

  • Sponsoring refugees as congregations pool their resources together

These aren’t small acts. They are seed-planting acts. And like any seed, they carry exponential possibility.

When Weariness Meets Faithfulness

“My mind and my spirit is full and I have much to think about.”

Let’s be honest: the call to justice, compassion, and transformation is exhilarating but it’s also exhausting, especially for those already stretched thin by caregiving, ministry, or vocational demands. The weight of global suffering can feel crushing.

And yet, over and over, we witnessed women showing up, not because they had endless energy but because they carried deep-rooted conviction and faithfulness.

In the midst of collective fatigue, God reminded us that the burden is shared, that we are not alone in the work, that our small yes when added to someone else’s becomes part of something far larger than we can imagine.

What’s Still Possible

The question we now carry is not “What next?” but “What’s still possible?”

What might happen if we continue to:

  • Listen to the Spirit with childlike openness

  • Show up where we are needed, not just where we feel comfortable

  • Support global partners with consistency, not just sentiment

  • Believe that ordinary faithfulness can bring extraordinary change

Living the change doesn’t require heroic action. It requires a faithful response. It asks us to keep doing the next right thing even when no one’s watching. It’s about letting God’s story reshape our own.

Your Turn: Reflecting Forward

As we close this reflection series on interMISSION 2025, we invite you to pause and ask:

  • What has changed in you since interMISSION?

  • Where is God nudging you to act, speak, give, or pray?

  • Whose story keeps echoing in your heart and what might that mean for you now?

We believe interMISSION was never meant to be just an event. It was always an invitation. And now, God's invitation to join his Kingdom work continues to be extended to us.

Let’s live the change — together.
