With nearly forty years of ministry experience, Dr. Beals has contributed in various capacities, including pastor, Christian counsellor, missionary teacher in Brazil, pastoral support, and Canadian Ministries Manager with Canadian Baptist Ministries. She was previously the pastor of Victoria Road United Baptist Church in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, part of the African United Baptist Association of Nova Scotia.

Dr. Beals holds degrees in Psychology, Special Education, Counselling, and Divinity, including a Doctor of Ministry from Acadia University in 2016. She is also a trained spiritual director, having completed her training in 2019.
