A tree down my street is turning orange and brown. The air is getting cooler at night. The children are getting excited about going back to school and seeing their friends or possibly
meeting new friends. Ladies, you are busy buying scribblers, pencils, pens and items for lunches. Your local church is also preparing its fall ministry calendar.
Ladies, what is God’s plan for you and me in ministry this fall? Sometimes we feel, what plan? Who, me? I go to church and take the kids to children’s groups or youth groups. But I am not a leader. I can’t play the piano. I can’t sing.
In the Message in Ephesians 1:15-19, it says, “That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn’t stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of His work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!”
Ladies, we are women of faith, Jesus has poured His love and His life out for us. We are a beautiful creation of God. His masterpiece. Jesus died so that you and I could have a glorious life in Him. In the scripture above, Paul, the apostle, saw the love the people had for other followers. Likewise, you ladies love the other people in your church, whether older, younger, believers or not. This is a huge ministry in itself. But is there a more specific ministry that God has for you?
During your next prayer and devotional time set aside some time, to ask God what His glorious plan is for you this fall. It could be loving the ladies in your church and praying for them. Or maybe there is a young single Mom, who needs another mom to share with her the secrets of being a good Mom. I couldn’t do this ministry, as I have never had the privilege of being a mom. God has a personal plan for each of us. Let us prayerfully seek the Lord for our ministry plan for this fall and do it. As the scripture says,” The utter extravagance of His work in us who trust him”. God will do wonderful things through you as you fulfil His plan. God bless you as you minister for Him.
For the glory and praise of our Lord and Saviour,
Kathleen R. Brewer
