S - Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
O - We become wiser when we are aware of the brevity of life here on earth.
A - Taking the time at the start of the day to contemplate who God is and who we are in relation to Him, drastically changes my perspective on the day ahead and what plans I might be making. Throughout this psalm I am reminded how brief my time on earth is and how great God is outside those restrictions of time and space. In the scope of eternity, I have so little time here. I need to be diligent not to squander any day but wisely be glad and joyful for the time given, keeping my focus on God and seeing life from His perspective. Today is all I have and if I am granted a few more years, they will quickly pass. Knowing this should make me wiser, choosing to use all I have been given by God, including this very day, for His glory and purposes.
P - May the favour of the LORD, my God rest upon me; establish the work of my hands, yes, establish the work of my hands.
