Dear Sisters In Christ:

The interMission Planning Team and the ABW Officers met last night to make a decision concerning this years celebration. It was an obvious decision with all that is happening around us, that we can not host interMission this year. We are all disappointed as I am sure you are too, but we need to do our part in getting this virus under control.

Having said that, two concerns were raised during our meeting one is the money we receive for the Walk-a-thon that will go to Canadian Baptist Ministries and the second is the monies given from our offerings that is designated for bursaries for Women in Ministry at Acadia Divinity College.

In light of this, I would encourage everyone to participate, in a socially responsible way, in the walk-a-thon as you can get sponsors through email and text and ask people to e-transfer the money to you and you can e-transfer the money to our Treasurer Annette. You can take a video of your walk or a picture and send it to Sylvia and she will make sure it will get posted on our Facebook page. If you would like to make an offering for the Bursaries for Women in Ministry, again simply send a cheque or make an e-transfer to Annette. Please make sure to let Annette know what the money is designated for. (

Other things that we can be doing during this time, as this is our 150th Anniversary, is to look at the list of the 150 ways to “Grow ABW” on our website and choose something to do from the list. And more importantly during this time of isolation when we may have more time on our hands, send a note or message to encourage someone, make a phone call, drop of a meal and take time to be still in the presence of God in prayer.

So in the midst of it all let us press on remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13-14, “13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” NLT

In Christian Love and Service,
