Q. What is home missions?

Home Missions continues to be a large part of our ministry. The Home Missions Committee is chaired by the Superintendent of Home Missions. Two important activities of this committee are Daily Vacation Bible School and Camp "Global Adventures" summer ministry leaders. Each summer young people are hired by the ABW to serve in our CABC churches and camps. Some home mission ministries and projects the ABW regularly contributes to are:

Union of French Baptist Churches, Acadia Divinity College, Crandall University, Institute of Pastoral Training, Coverdale Foundation-meets needs of women who are in conflict with the law, Pregnancy Resource Centres, Hospital and Community Chaplaincies, Christian Action Federation of NB, New Life Mission and the CABC Atlantic Baptist Mission Board.

Q. How do I subscribe to Tidings?

Since 1893 Tidings has been published by the United Baptist Woman's Missionary Union of the Atlantic Provinces for the glory of God, in praise of His people, and to spur each other on to do good works.

Tidings is printed 10 times a year. The annual subscription rate in Canada is fifteen dollars, tax included;  Thirty dollars in the US;  Fifty dollars outside Canada and the US.  Send subscriptions and address changes to the business manager or click here. It helps our business manager if one person in your group sends in all the names and money. Please make sure addresses are correct.

Q. What is Dominion Life Membership?

The Dominion Life Membership is given to show appreciation and recognition of an individual's support, interest and involvement in Canadian Baptist missions.  A special contribution over and above regular offerings is given to the regional organization (ABW in Atlantic Canada).  The pin was first presented on 1940.  It depicts an open Bible and the cross.   The Dominion Life Membership is symbolic of unity and purpose for Canadian Baptist Women.  It may be given to any member of a Baptist Church within Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM).

The cost of a Dominion Life Membership certificate only (without Pin) -  $ 125.00 + $ 10.00 for CBW mailing expense. 

The cost of a Dominion Life Membership certificate and Pin -  $ 125.00 for membership + $ 45.00 for the pin.

Q. How is a name placed in We Shall Remember Them and the Memorial Book?

To place a name in We Shall Remember Them send the person's name, address, date of death, and age to the editor. Print as well as write the information. Include your phone number so that the editor can contact you if necessary. Do not send any money to the editor.

To place a name in The Memorial Book send information to your Provincial Treasurer with a memorial gift of five dollars or more.

Q. Is there an ABW / United Baptist Woman's Missionary Union Life Membership?

The UBWMU Life Membership is given to show appreciation and recognition of an individual's support, interest and involvement in the mission of Atlantic Baptist Women/UBWMU.  A special contribution over and above regular offerings is given to ABW/ UBWMU to provide support for local and gloabal mission.   The Life membership and pin may be given to any member of a Woman's Missionary Society / ABW group who has been a faithful supporter of the ABW / UBWMU.
 
The cost of a UBWMU Life Membership certificate is $ 35.00.
The cost of a UBWMU Life Membership Pin is  $ 10.00
